http://faculty.philau.edu/kayk/KKay/articles/DigitalS_VisualLit.pdf
Today, we have more communication tools or media than the era of Socrates. Students have to be a effective communicator in the 21st century, more sophisticated than just written words.
Digital storytelling is not focus on the technology, but the content of the story. No matter how technology changes, a good digital product should contain a message which is worthy to be remembered. The goal of teachers is to guide our students to learn the ability of effective communication. Digital story should be remembered for its soul, not the bells and whistles of the technology tools.

Leon,I can see why you are doctoral student. Your philosphy of the gist of digital storytelling is very profound. I like the way you stated, "digital story should be remembered for its soul, not the bells and whistles of the technology tools".
ReplyDeleteI have no doubt that in any phase of your teaching pursuits hey will be memorable.
